To begin with, usage of high-tech products in our life brings us more independency. Only decades ago without convenient transports and home appliances people needed to get help from others quite often to deal with some basic problems in their daily life, such as carrying a heavy liquid natural gas tank to the kitchen, which is around 30 kilograms that cannot be lifted by one person. Advanced natural gas pipeline system helps people get rid of physical work like this. This is to say, without others' help people can also enjoy a comfortable life with utilizing high technology. In addition, good social order and abundant social resources make people get daily necessities to support their basic life easily. In agricultural societies, people had to live and work together to make a living. However, in modern societies, what people need is a job, and with the payment they can buy whatever they want for their life.
On the contrary, some objectors might argue that people are communicating with each other more frequently than before, which means they are much more dependent to each other. Nevertheless, this is totally wrong, inasmuch as people's frequent communication results from their choice of having a more independent life. To enjoy impendency, a growing number of people choose to live by themselves or with a
core family. In fact, in ancient time they communicated with other much more as
they all lived under one roof.
In a word, our modern society makes an independent life possible for everyone, and offers people more options of life.
